Army-Navy Football Game

Army Navy Game celebration Every fall the University of Idaho Army ROTC faces off against the Navy ROTC in a game of flag football. The game typically occurs on the Friday evening before the Saturday of the famed Army - Navy game, featuring the teams from the United States military academies. The winning team gets bragging rights and a plaque that resides the winner's department until the next game.

Ranger Challenge

Ranger ChallengeThe Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

RapellingRappelling is included in the Military Science courses for the adventure aspect and to teach students to overcome their inherent fear of heights and to trust their equipment and training. Rappelling is conducted in both the fall and spring semesters. The fall rappel training is more of an introduction with classes and a 35 foot wall rappel at the fire station training facility in Moscow, where the Rappel training in the spring is a 90 foot free rappel in the Kibbie dome.

Turkey Shoot

Turkeyshoot 2011Each November the Army Military Science Department invites students, faculty, staff and family from the University of Idaho to participate in the annual Turkey Shoot food drive. Each participant fires eight rounds from an M16 machine gun with a .22 caliber conversion kit installed. The top shooter in each category wins a turkey. The can foods collected are used to support the Warrior Promise Foundation.
