Continuing Education is an important part of ECHO Idaho. Our programming promotes dissemination of recent scientific advancements, patient safety, reduction in medical errors, more appropriate methods for prescribing and more effective methods of referrals in order to enhance the ultimate goal of helping physicians practice high quality patient care that results in better outcomes. Physicians
The University of Idaho, WWAMI Medical Education Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physician Assistants
For the purpose of re-licensure, the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) accepts continuing education credits issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education). To be considered continuing education, the session(s) are required to be germane to your practice. Final acceptance of the credit for recertification resides with your state board. Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses
For the purpose of re-licensure, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts continuing education credits issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education). To be considered continuing education, the session(s) are required to be germane to your practice. Final acceptance of the credit for recertification resides with your state board.
Pharmacists
Per IDAPA 24.36.01.213, the rules of the Idaho state Board of Pharmacy for CPE allows a maximum of three (3) of the hours may be obtained from CME, if the credits are: a. Obtained from an ACCME accredited provider; and b. A certificate is furnished that identifies the name of the ACCME accredited provider and a clear reference to its accreditation status, the title of the CME program, the completed hours of instruction, the date of completion, and the name of the individual obtaining the credit. Final acceptance of the credit for recertification resides with your state board.
Social Workers, Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists
The Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses recognizes the University of Idaho, WWAMI Medical Education Program as an approved provider of continuing education. To be considered continuing education, the session(s) are required to be germane to your practice.
Participants from states outside of Idaho are welcome and encouraged to attend! Please check with your state certification and licensure boards for specific considerations regarding claiming continuing education for participation in ECHO Idaho programs.
Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC/ACADC/CPS)
The Idaho Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification (IBADCC) recognizes the University of Idaho, WWAMI Medical Education Program as an approved provider of continuing education.
