Global Student Success Program
The University of Idaho Global Student Success Program (GSSP) is for international students at all levels of academic and English language preparation, and may also be available to those who do not meet the U of I admission requirements for direct entry. We provide a robust support program to students during the first year of study, which helps increase success in their university program and professional career. The GSSP is available for students in any undergraduate major and for a select number of master’s degrees. The application is free, and participating in the GSSP will not cost you any additional expense or time to complete your degree from the University of Idaho.
Undergraduate Global Student Success Program
Undergraduate GSSP students spend the first year of their bachelors degree in small classes tailored to international students that help prepare them for an American university education. Outside of class, you'll participate in activities that introduce you to American culture and begin to forge a bond between you, your peers and the wider university community. When you successfully complete the program, you will enter the second year of coursework in your major program.
Graduate Global Student Success Program
The Graduate GSSP is a two-semester program for students who have completed a bachelor's degree, but need additional academic and/or English support to gain entry to a master's degree program. You will complete between six and 12 credits applicable to your master’s degree, as well as a set of courses designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge to succeed in U of I graduate programs. No GRE/GMAT is needed to apply.
The GSSP helps international students with any challenge no matter how big or small. Our program is intentionally designed to build the skills and expertise necessary to succeed at the University of Idaho. Here's what the program includes:
