At U of I, you’ll get the authentic college experience. And living on our beautiful classic campus puts you at the center of it all. Whether you choose a residence hall or Greek house, living on campus makes it easy to find your crowd at student clubs, socials and campus hot spots. You’ll be surrounded by action — just steps from Vandal athletic events, student activities and shows, the award-winning Student Recreation Center, the annual Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival and so much more.
If safe, supportive and fun are at the top of your wish list, then consider a residence hall. Live with other freshmen, choose a single-gender or coed floor, share a space with others in your major or find another fit that’s right for you.
- Four residence halls
- Organized socials and outings
- On-site student success program
Fraternities and Sororities
If you want opportunities to develop true sisterhood or brotherhood relationships and to foster a network of connections that can help you after college — Greek Life is the perfect option for you.
- 26 Greek chapters with on-campus living options (10 sororities; 16 fraternities)
- 34 Greek letter organizations
- Opportunities for leadership and philanthropy
Here you’ll have access to good food and good friends – all without ever having to leave campus.
