NSF Implements New Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide

Beginning today, June 1, the National Science Foundation (NSF) will implement the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (NSF 20-1) for proposals submitted or due on or after this date. NSF has delayed the requirement to use NSF-approved formats for the biographical sketch and current and pending support sections of NSF proposals until Oct. 5. Proposers must continue to format these documents in accordance with PAPPG requirements (see PAPPG sections II.C.2.f and II.C.2.h). Read more

Join the Research and Faculty Development team 12:30-1:30 p.m. tomorrow, April 8, via Zoom for a seminar on the National Science Foundation (NSF) Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) program. The NSF MRI program supports the acquisition or development of multi-user scientific and engineering instrumentation for research and research training. In this session, learn essential ingredients of competitive MRI proposals such as securing the required cost-share, acquiring preliminary data, collecting and reporting institutional data and constructing management plans. Participants will also be provided with proposal development tools to help in the planning of the next MRI proposal. Read more

Open Access Publishing Fund Supports 46 Researchers Across Four Colleges in Second Year

The Open Access Publishing Fund (OAPF) has disbursed its entire allocation of funds for this FY20. Created by a partnership with the University of Idaho Library, Office of the Provost and Office of Research and Economic Development, the OAPF allocated $30,000 to support U of I authors in their efforts to publish in open access journals by paying article processing charges.
