Job Placement

100% of the students who graduated in May 2019 and actively searched for employment in the design disciplines were employed by October 2019.

Graduation Rates for CIDA Cohort

100% of students from the May 2019 graduating class who applied to graduate school were accepted. Students apply to national and international graduate schools, as well as our Seamless B.I.A.D./Master's in Architecture Program. Students entering the seven year Seamless B.I.A.D./M.Arch program apply to the Architecture Program prior to the beginning of the fourth year of study in the Interior Architecture and Design Program. In past years students have also entered graduate programs at Purdue University, Savannah College of Art and Design, Pratt Institute, University of Pennsylvania, Université Stendhal-Grenoble, and the University of Idaho.

Retention/Attrition for CIDA Cohort

Students undergo two application and admission reviews — one at the transition from first to second year to ensure solid foundation and successful completion of prerequisites before entering the second year, and another between sophomore and junior year, which also entails a portfolio review. Students meeting GPA and performance criteria, including quality portfolios, qualify for admission to third year and are considered the studio cohort for that year.

Seniors who graduated in 2018 have successfully passed the 2016 summer portfolio and admission to third-year review. 100% of the students admitted to the third-year Interior Design Program during the summer 2016 review returned and enrolled in fall 2016 — two as study abroad students in Italy and the remainder at the Moscow campus, putting attrition rate at 0%. Of those admitted to third-year in 2016, 60% of the cohort graduated on time in May 2018 and 16% graduated in December 2018 to complete second major and second minor requirements, along with additional academic needs. 16% are completing their degrees and are on track to graduate in May 2019. A leave of absence for one year during spring 2017 was granted for personal reasons to one student, who is completing their degree and is on track to graduate in May 2019.

75 % of the first-year students with a declared major in Interior Design who enrolled in fall 2014 returned in the fall of 2016, putting attrition at 25%.
