Startup Vandal Business Plan Competition
The Startup Vandal business plan competition is part of the Idaho Pitch and simulates an angel investor or venture capital pitch. Teams will present their business proposals to a panel of business professionals and investors in a tournament format, with the strongest ideas and teams moving forward to the final rounds at Startup Vandal.
The goal of the Idaho Pitch and Startup Vandal is for students to gain valuable business, pitching, and networking experience. During Pitch Weekend, students and teams will gain expert feedback, pitch to multiple investors, and build strategic partnerships. Every years, some of our best teams go on to pitch investors for seed capital and launch their startups. That could be your team!
Thousands of dollars of prize and Gap Fund money are awarded to our best. Each year, U of I teams win over $100,000 in prize money in the Idaho Pitch and other events we compete in. Top prizes are awarded to the teams with solid and realistic ideas, innovative concepts, and show potential for market traction. The very best always rise to the top and are invited into the final round of Startup Vandal that caps off the Idaho Pitch.
