Based on the student’s preferences, every Hamp's Camper will participate in two different large ensembles, a chamber ensemble, and the Hamp’s Camp Ensemble. Each of these ensembles will be coached by our faculty and staff members. These ensembles can be from multiple concentrations — for example, a student could choose to perform in concert band, jazz ensemble, and a chamber ensemble — and our schedule is setup to accommodate a student with a variety of interests. If a pre-formed chamber ensemble plans to attend, please contact us via email about receiving a discount on camp tuition.

The jazz program at the Lionel Hampton Music Camp offers instrumentalists and vocalists a chance to rehearse and perform with their peers and distinguished jazz faculty at the Lionel Hampton School of Music. Students will prepare a variety of music, develop their improvisational skills, and perform at the end of the week.

Jazz faculty at the University of Idaho will be leading the jazz ensembles and coaching small groups. Please see our faculty page to view our currently scheduled faculty roster. We often add faculty over the course of the year, so if you would like to confirm the faculty roster, please feel free to contact us.
