Musical Theatre and Choir
Based on the student’s preferences, every Hamp's Camper will participate in two different large ensembles, a chamber ensemble, and the Hamp’s Camp Ensemble. Each of these ensembles will be coached by our faculty and staff members. These ensembles can be from multiple concentrations — for example, a student could choose to perform in concert band, jazz ensemble, and a chamber ensemble — and our schedule is setup to accommodate a student with a variety of interests. If a pre-formed chamber ensemble plans to attend, please contact us via email about receiving a discount on camp tuition.
Voice
Members of the Lionel Hampton Music Camp’s voice program will have the opportunity to work with faculty members at the beautiful campus of University of Idaho to develop their musicianship skills, vocal technique and musical knowledge. Each camper will engage in fun, energized and intensive daily rehearsals of a variety of choral repertoire, culminating in concert performances Saturday.
NEW FOR 2020 - In addition to large choir, the voice faculty will now offer musical theatre training for interested students, including voice lessons, acting and movement, and a finale musical performance. If you are interested in this option, please contact Chris Pfund for further information.
Please see our faculty page to view our currently scheduled faculty roster. We often add faculty, so if you would like to know the most current roster, please contact us to find out who will be teaching this coming summer.
