Chian-Ann Lu is an international theatre designer from Taipei, Taiwan. He is an Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts with a focus in Lighting. Lu holds an M.F.A. in Design and Technology from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. from the National Taiwan University, the Department of Drama and Theatre. Lu’s specialties include lighting design, moving light programming, stage management, photography, drawing and painting.
Since 2006, Lu has designed lights for a range of dance and theatre productions including “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” for the Davis Shakespeare Festival in San Francisco, “Little Women – the Musical” for the University of Texas at Austin, Shenandoah Conservatory’s “Wonderful Town,” and “Night of Erik Satie” for the Taipei Capital Ballet.
