Prestigious Fellowship Workshops

This workshop series helps in preparing students to apply for featured prestigious fellowships. We introduce the three featured fellowships (NSF-GRFP, Ford, and NDSEG), delve into eligibility and application requirements, and begin developing the essays.

Series schedule:

  • Sept. 9: Workshop 1: Introduction to the Three Major Fellowships (NSF-GRFP, Ford, and NDSEG)
  • Sept. 16: Workshop 2: Developing the Essays and Statements
  • Sept. 23: International Students Workshop – Opportunities and Strategies
  • Sept. 30: Workshop 3: Panel of Current Student Awardees + Q&A

The Prestigious Fellowships Workshops are designed to help students prepare and apply for different graduate fellowship opportunities, including to the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). The GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions. This Fall, the University of Idaho College of Graduate Studies will host workshops dedicated to helping students apply for this and other prestigious fellowship programs.

Other fellowship programs included in the workshop are the Ford Foundation Fellowship, and the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship (NDSEG). The workshops can help students prepare for all variety of fellowship applications.

Our Director of Graduate Student Support Programs, will introduce you to the process of writing letters and essays, and preparing your application for submission to the different fellowships.
