Student Support Services

The University of Idaho Student Support Services – TRIO program provides individual academic and personal support to eligible undergraduate students to help them succeed at the University of Idaho and beyond.

  • College Success Strategies course for SSS-TRIO incoming freshman

  • Financial Aid and personal finance information
  • Advocacy

Eligibility

An SSS-TRIO student must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident, have an academic need, and meet one or more of the following:

  • Be a first-generation college student (neither parent completed a bachelor’s degree)
  • Have a documented disability
  • Be from a limited income home (according to federal criteria)

Enrollment in the program is limited, and students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a student is enrolled in SSS - TRIO, an educational plan is mutually developed. Students are expected to take an active role in the program.

Scholarships

SSS-TRIO participants can be considered for merit-based scholarships as well as the Reveley Scholarship Program for students with a documented learning disability, ADD or ADHD.
