The University of Idaho now uses the VandalNumber, or V-number, in place of the Student ID Number, which will slowly be discontinued to streamline processes and make it easier for faculty, students, and staff. As of July 11, all students are being identified by their V-number.

Academy of Country Music (ACM) award winner and recording artist Rodney Atkins will headline a concert for returning University of Idaho students and the greater Palouse community Monday, Aug. 20, on the first day of fall semester classes. Atkins is a six-time ACM nominee and 2006 winner for Top Male Vocalist. His hits include “Farmer’s Daughter,” “If You’re Going Through Hell,” and new releases “Take a Back Road” and “Caught Up in the Country.” Atkins has been a part of country music for more than two decades and mixes the values of hard work, honesty and country living with the power of storytelling into his music. Movies return to the University of Idaho Theophilus Tower lawn for 10 nights this summer as the Department of Student Involvement hosts Screen on the Green on Thursdays and select Saturdays through August. The family friendly screenings, many of which include costume contests and a chance for prizes, are free and open to both students and community members. Popcorn will also be free at the screenings. All movies are scheduled to begin at dusk (approximately 8:45 p.m.) on the Theophilus Tower lawn at the north edge of campus. Blankets and chairs are welcome. Read more
