Vandal Gem Auditions
Vandal Gem Audition Information
During auditions, the head coach looks at dancers as a whole. What type of tricks can they perform, do they have good dance technique, can they perform cheer motions, are their motions sharp, do they have the ability to light up the room when they dance, etc. The head coach looks for the whole package when it comes to selecting members for our program.
While we are more focused on turn technique and leap flexibility, we like to incorporate tricks into our sideline routines and game day features. These can include things like ariels, headstands, kip ups, and other similar skills!
During auditions, whether video or live, dancers should expect to perform the highest skill level of dance technique. The head coach will ask potential members to perform right and left pirouettes, an a la secondes sequence, leaps, different kicks, and to showcase flexibility. The head coach also wants to see how a potential member looks while performing basic cheer motions. Dancers will do chants and similar band dance routines with the cheer team.
