Family and Consumer Sciences Option – Career and Technical Education, B.S.

Teach Life Literacy

The family and consumer sciences education option is for students interested in teaching family and consumer sciences subjects at the high school or post-secondary level.

Content areas include

  • Early Childhood Development
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Apparel and Textiles
  • Interior Design and Housing
  • Personal Finance
  • Consumer Management

Completion of this option qualifies you for an Idaho secondary teaching certificate (6-12) in family and consumer sciences and usually economics, health and science (based on selected electives).

Fast Facts

  • Dual major between the C.T.E. and F.C.S. programs.
  • Receive an Idaho endorsement to teach at middle and high schools.
