Dance Activity Courses

The Dance Program in Department of Movement Sciences offers dance activity courses, which are open to all UI students, staff and faculty members. These courses are designed to promote xxx for participants. Students have the opportunity to earn credit for taking DAN courses, and all participants have the opportunity to learn new skills, participate in physical activity and improve their xxx.

Along with xxx or xxx classes (including xxx, xxx, xxx, xxx, xxx, etc.), the dance activity courses offers a number of unique courses, including xxx, xxx, xxx, xxx and more.

Job duties include:

  • Developing course materials

  • Overseeing physical activities, including ensuring student safety

  • Assessing student performance

Positions pay $625 - $1167 per session, per semester. Activity instructors are required to have previous teaching experience and preferred to have a current CPR/First Aid certification.

Dance Training Instructor

DAN 105 activity courses are open to all university students. Instructing one-credit dance activity and/or technique course(s) for the Department of Movement Sciences. Each course section specializes in a specific dance area, in varying levels from beginning to advanced.

Some courses have sections of both 105 and 216 or 416. In this case, these sections are taught jointly. Individuals may be hired for more than one course and may be asked to continue in subsequent semesters (contingent on successful evaluations).

DAN 216/416 technique courses are enrolled only by Dance majors and minors. Instructing one-credit dance activity and/or technique course(s) for the Department of Movement Sciences. Each course section specializes in a specific dance area, in varying levels from beginning to advanced.

Some courses have sections of both 105 and 216 or 416. In this case, these sections are taught jointly. Individuals may be hired for more than one course and may be asked to continue in subsequent semesters (contingent on successful evaluations).
