Student Chemical Engineers Win Regional Jeopardy Competition

University of Idaho College of Engineering chemical engineering seniors Adriana Bryant, Niko Hansen, and Hannah Johnson, and junior Adam Irons won the Pacific Northwest Regional ChemE Jeopardy Competition hosted by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). The team will compete in the national competition held during the AIChE Annual Meeting in November in Boston. AIChE is the world’s leading organization for chemical engineering professionals. The Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention has said SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, likely originated in bats. And as efforts remain ongoing to neutralize the current COVID-19 outbreak, a University of Idaho student has been recognized with a national scholarship as he researches just how susceptible certain animal species are to the virus.
