April 22 Update: A Summer Commencement Ceremony is planned for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center at Moscow to honor the Class of 2020.
This summer ceremony will be held in place of Spring 2020 Commencement ceremonies that had to be canceled in Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls and Moscow because of concerns about the spread of COVID-19.
Graduates from the Class of 2020 have the option of taking part in the Aug. 1 ceremony, or in the December 2020 or May 2021 ceremonies. Please RSVP if you are planning to attend the Aug. 1 ceremony by logging into the student section of VandalWeb and selecting the August ceremony from the “Ceremony Reservation and Hometown” link.
Students who have applied to graduate through the Registrar’s Office this spring will still receive a diploma cover, as well as a program and other tokens of appreciation to commemorate this accomplishment. The package will be shipped to each graduate’s diploma mailing address, which can be confirmed by logging into VandalWeb, selecting "Graduation Application Status" and viewing the diploma mailing address. Students who need to change a diploma mailing address can do so by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org that includes the student's name, V number and new mailing address.
Celebrating our graduates is one of our most important traditions and celebrations. Additional information about the Aug. 1 ceremony will be released as it becomes available.
Clear Bag Policy: Beginning January 1, 2020, the University of Idaho has implemented a clear bag policy for all events in the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center and for events on the Moscow campus with 500+ attendance. This new policy is intended to improve and maintain public safety and event security and to improve bag check efficiency at events. More information regarding the Clear Bag Policy can be found online.
Bag Checks: The University of Idaho is committed to continual improvement of our events and the safety and comfort of our guests. In the interest of enhanced safety, we will be conducting bag checks at all the entrances for the Moscow spring commencement ceremony. NO BAGS will be permitted for graduating students.
Firearms and Weapons: Individuals, including concealed carry permit holders, may not bring a firearm into the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center, Memorial Gym or the Bruce M. Pitman Center. The university has posted signs that specify this restriction as set out in Idaho Code Section 18-3309 (2). [ed. 1-15]. Additionally, university policy prohibits weapons of any sort (to include knives) being brought into the Kibbie Dome.
Tobacco and Alcohol: The University of Idaho is a tobacco-free campus; the use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes and smokeless tobacco is not permitted on university property. Alcoholic beverages can only be consumed in approved locations on university property as per Idaho State Board of Education policy.
