National Nutrition Month
Savor the Flavor of Eating Right!
March is National Nutrition Month and we couldn’t be more excited. This month is all about Savoring the Flavor of Eating right, or in other words, celebrating good eating. We are on board with that!
Tips for Savoring the Flavor:
- Time, place, company, occasion: all things to take in during meal planning and preparation. The sights, sounds and interactions can all be positive associations with your food and especially with your family.
- When you eat is just as important as what you eat! Savor the Flavor with good timing. Develop a good eating pattern.
- Keep traditions alive. Every five years the HHS (Health and Human Services) and the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) put together the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This is full of great information for healthy practices and is accommodating to different food preferences, cultures and traditions of many diverse groups. Check it out and see how you can shape up your diet without compromising your favorite flavors.
- Mix it up! MyPlate recommendations are easy to follow and fun to get creative with. Creativity in the kitchen gives some flavor to your food and some fun into making it.
