Hello Healthy,

Did you know that the average eight to 18 year old spends up to 7.5 hours every day in front of a screen, whether it is a computer, TV, cell phone or video game? 

Playground equipment can make kids smile.

Think about how much physical activity you and your family get on a daily basis. Are you getting enough? It is recommended that children get 60 minutes of physical activity a day, 30 minutes for adults.

If not, is there screen time that could be sacrificed for a little bit of outdoor play? Being physically active is absolutely necessary in your daily routine in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Maybe we can swap some screen time for a walk? 

Simple ways to increase your family's daily physical activity:

  • Walk the dog
  • Wash the car
  • Go for a bike ride
  • Join a recreational sport
  • Have your kids take part in school sports
  • Go swimming
  • Take a hike (If only we lived in an area rich in outdoor activity and beautiful scenery…)
  • Tend the garden
  • Stretch
  • Have a living room yoga session
  • Have a living room dance party

The mountains and hills of Idaho are a beautiful place to hike.
