Coronavirus: In-Person Changes

  • Effective Thursday, March 26, University of Idaho Extension will be discontinuing all in-person meetings and programming and will move to an entirely virtual environment.
  • Service to clientele will continue through phone calls, emails, websites, social media and other appropriate means.
  • All events will be canceled, postponed or transitioned to digital delivery to keep communities healthy and event hosts will be communicating these changes with all participants.

Rangeland Center Members Contribute to Translational Animal Science

Six Rangeland Center members recently published papers in a journal dedicated to animal science. The Translational Animal Science’s December 2019 issue featured University of Idaho faculty and graduate students from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the College of Natural Resources and U of I Extension. Authors in the Rangeland Center included Jim Sprinkle, beef extension specialist; Tracey Johnson, assistant professor of wildlife habitat ecology in rangeland systems and director of research at Rinker Rock Creek Ranch; Melinda Ellison, assistant professor of range livestock research; Carmen Willmore, Extension educator for Lincoln County; Joseph Sagers, Extension educator for Jefferson County; and John Hall, superintendent of the Nancy M. Cummings Research, Extension and Education Center and cattle management lead at Rinker Rock Creek Ranch. Read more

Workshop Proposals for Idaho 4-H State Teen Association Convention Now Being Accepted

The 4-H Youth Development Department is requesting workshop proposals for the 2020 Idaho 4-H State Teen Association Convention (STAC), formerly Idaho 4-H Teen Conference, which will be held June 22-25, 2020, on the Moscow campus. This event brings youth ages 14-18 from across the state to participate in activities focusing on post-secondary and career exploration. The conference is open to all Idaho teens, with an increased focus on recruitment from rural, isolated communities and underserved populations. Teens participate in on-campus workshops, campus and community tours, service learning, state elections and networking. In addition, and in partnership with Vice Provost Dean Kahler and the Strategic Enrollment Management team, teens will receive an in-depth overview of the University of Idaho. Read more

PARMA, Idaho — Aug. 30, 2019 — The University of Idaho Parma Fruit Field Day will be a little sweeter this year for its founder and emcee, pomology Professor Essie Fallahi. The event Friday, Sept. 6, showcases Fallahi’s work with apples, table grapes, peaches, nectarines, plums, quince, Asian pears and other fruits.
