Solving Problems, One Building at a Time
While senior Alfonso Ramirez was completing his first studio design course, he began to notice architecture all around him. His desire to be around nature, and incorporate design solutions to help solve everyday problems, only furthered his desire to have a positive effect on people’s lives.
“I began to notice architecture everywhere I went,” he said. “I would look at the different forms of the buildings, the materials used and the overall spatial experience—that’s when I realized architecture was my life.”
Ramirez believes that he would have had a hard time completing his graduate work if it wasn’t for the scholarship assistance he received while at the University of Idaho.
“The scholarships I’ve received have given me the opportunity to finish my education,” he said. “The Arthur L. Troutner scholarship has allowed me to stay focused on school without having to worry about financial expenses.”
