NROTC Student and Lifelong Learner
The University of Idaho enriches student lives by giving them the tools they need to succeed. U of I senior Amish Smith believes his time spent studying history and participating as an active duty member of U of I’s NROTC program have cultivated his path to success.
“My studies at the University of Idaho have inspired me to continue my education, which will contribute to further success and enrichment in my life, “ he said. “After graduation, I plan to commission as an officer in the Marine Corps, and in time continue to pursue further education in the field of history.”
After being selected for U of I’s highly competitive military commissioning program, Smith’s hard work and dedication allowed him pursue his passion at U of I. Smith puts that same dedication and hard work into his studies and is thankful for any and all assistance on his journey through higher education.
“Without scholarships, I would have had to make different financial arrangements,” Smith said. “This would have undoubtedly required incurring student debt, and possibly necessitated seeking additional employment. Both of these would have negatively affected my academic career.”
