Learning About Her Roots
Financial assistance has given Jessica Betancourt the opportunity to learn more about her native language of Spanish, its history and her roots.
“My scholarships have helped me cover the cost of my tuition, books and other needed school supplies,” Betancourt said. “I know that I would not be where I am today without your help.”
At U of I, she has been involved in various multicultural student organizations and increased her leadership skills through her work as a Vandal multicultural connector, a tutor, a Model UN delegate, an ambassador for CLASS, and several local, national, and international volunteer opportunities.
“Donors like you have helped me pursue my dreams and had a big impact on my life,” Betancourt said.
