Idaho Clean Snowmobile Team Placed Fourth in National SAE Challenge

The University of Idaho College of Engineering's Idaho Clean Snowmobile Team earned fourth place overall in the gasoline spark-ignited class at the 2020 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Clean Snowmobile Challenge held March 9-14. The U of I team competed against 23 teams across the U.S. and Canada in a weeklong challenge to produce innovative solutions to make cleaner, quieter and more efficient snowmobiles that are practical for manufacturers and enthusiasts alike. Parking and Transportation Services Updates

The Parking and Transportation Services office at 1006 Railroad St. in the Intermodal Transit Center is closed to the public, but the Parking and Transportation Services customer service team will continue answering the phone and responding to emails as normal. The University of Idaho Moscow campus will continue with academic break parking enforcement rules until the first day of fall semester, Monday, Aug. 24. Read more

The Women’s Center announced the recipients of the 2020 Virginia Wolf Distinguished Service Awards. This year’s honorees are: Samragyee Gautam (Student Award), Leontina Hormel (Faculty/Staff Award) and Maureen Taylor Regan (Community Member Award). Virginia (Ginny) Wolf was a professor of physical education at U of I from 1964-82. Read more

COVID-19 Virtual Forum Organized by Medical Education Program Hits Maximum Attendees

A virtual forum on the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic organized on Tuesday by the University of Idaho’s medical education program Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) reached the 500 maximum number of visitors within the first five minutes of the session. The number was expanded from 200 to 500 due to the extreme interest from health care providers throughout the state. Read more

U of I - WSU Women’s Leadership Conference Postponed Until Fall

Amid escalating concerns and precautionary measures being taken around the containment of COVID-19 nationwide, Washington State University’s and the University of Idaho’s joint annual Women’s Leadership Conference is being rescheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 8. All current arrangements for the conference will remain in place. Presenters with accepted workshop proposals will remain on the schedule of events unless they indicate they are unable to attend on Sept. 8. Read more
