Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) is self-funded, accepting no U of I General Fund monies. We're proud to contribute to U of I's improvement while freeing up funds for programs benefiting students, staff and faculty. In addition to operational expenses, PTS is responsible for funding capital improvements like parking lot renewal.

Being self-funded, we pay close attention to expenses and save money by doing a significant portion of lot improvement and maintenance in-house. By design, we receive only about 16% of our revenue from citations. Our goal is to keep this slice of the pie very low and focus on revenue streams based on parking products and event services.
