Professor Eric Boos is working on a State-level Habeas Corpus appeal for a man in Indiana. Prof. Boos is also working on an administrative law problem for a disabled veteran in Montana whose only source of income is his VA Benefits, which a state court attached for alimony and child support without allowing VA hearing.

Professor Ben Beard’s Property Law class of 1Ls, the class of 2023, has surpassed previous years’ fundraising efforts, raising $4,115 for the Moscow Food Bank in anticipation of the Thanksgiving holiday. The donations include a $1,000 match by Prof. Beard.

Even before the polls closed Nov. 3, President Donald Trump’s campaign filed lawsuits challenging the acceptance of absentee and early votes, as well as asking that vote counting be stopped. Now, Attorney General William Barr has allowed U.S. attorneys to “pursue substantial allegations” of voter fraud before the results of the 2020 presidential election are certified. This panel of legal experts will examine election law in pivotal states and assess the merits of ongoing challenges to the voting process and results. Read more
Entrepreneurship Law Clinic at University of Idaho Assists Nonprofit SoleKIDs with Legal Issues

SoleKIDs, an award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Boise, is an 8-week running program for children. The program began with 30 children in 2017 and has since grown to 500. Children as young as age four can sign up for fall and spring running programs in which they train for an hour and a half, twice a week, and then run a 5K with the finish line on Boise State’s blue football field. Second-year law students Hayden Cottle and Quindaro Frieder worked for Idaho Military Legal Alliance (IMLA) in Boise this summer, writing and creating three brochures about the rules pertaining to Veterans and Service Animals. The brochures are audience-focused and titled Service Animals: Do I Qualify?, Rights of the Business, and Rights of the Handler. Read more

Ct. 2452 (2020), has caused considerable unrest in Eastern Oklahoma as non-Indian individuals, businesses, and organizations try to determine how the decision might affect them.
