Hometown: Austin, TX
Hello. My name is Chantell Abou-Hamdan and I am originally from Texas. I was born in Austin but raised in a border town called Eagle Pass. I moved back to Austin where I completed by B.A. in Government with a Minor in Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin. Upon graduating, I became employed with Travis County as a Court Clerk, where I worked for the Justice of the Peace, Pct. 5. During this time, I became a mom to a beautiful little girl. While employed, and as a single mother, I managed to obtain my M.A. in Legal Studies from Texas State University in San Marcos, about a thirty-minute drive from Austin. I was promoted to Judicial Aide to County Court at Law #2 shortly thereafter. I had over ten years of experience working directly for a judge before making the decision to attend law school. The summer before law school I participated in the CLEO Pre-law Summer Institute. We did online law school for two weeks and then did a residential portion for four weeks in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is because the University of Idaho College of Law is a partner school to CLEO that my daughter and I ended up in Moscow, Idaho. It has been the best choice I have made for us so far. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and I will be happy to help. Go Vandals!
