Bio: U of I was the only law school that I applied for, and was the only school that I could ever see myself at. I was looking for a small and close-knit environment that would give me the opportunity to get to know my professors and classmates on a personal level. The College of Law has given me that opportunity, as well as the opportunity to meet the Idaho Supreme Court Justices, and other judges and attorneys from around the State in both formal and informal settings. We are constantly being provided with networking opportunities that aren't available to other schools, and I’ve quickly realized during my time here that our alumni network is incredible and they all genuinely want to help current succeed. I was a part of the 3-and-3 program and have received so much support from the facility and my colleagues to push me to where I am at academically. It’s such a blessing to be around people that, honestly, want you to reach whatever goals you have and are willing to help in anyway that they can. When I was applying I knew that I was choosing more than a school-- I was choosing my home for the next 3 years. I love Moscow, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to continue as a Vandal!
Words of Advice: Take care of yourself while you're on this adventure. It is a stressful time with a lot of new experiences and demands, but at the end of the day you are going to make it through it. When you get frustrated (and trust me, you will) take a break to clear your head and start again; and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Be kind to yourself, and to your peers, we're all going through this craziness together. When times get hard remember what motivated you to start, and how many lives you are going to impact when its done.
Whenever I get stressed I found that calling my grandpa helps to reset me. Every time I think that I can't make it he always tells me the same thing, "What do they call a lawyer who graduates at the bottom of the class? A lawyer."
