Before coming to the College of Law, Kristi Denney's law practice spanned three states over ten years, primarily focused on environmental and energy law. She began her career working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Kansas City. She has since held positions with the Sierra Club, the Social Security Administration, the Texas Public Utility Commission, and as counsel for the wholesale electricity market monitor in Texas. She now focuses her efforts on helping law students gain practical experience through externship and pro bono placements.
Kristi earned her law degree from the University of Colorado Law School in 2005. She also completed a master’s degree in environmental studies at the University of Montana.
