Department of Fish and Wildlife Seminar Series Launches Feb. 3

The University of Idaho community is invited to join the Department of Fish & Wildlife Sciences for its Spring Seminar Speaker Series. The seminars are held from 1:30 – 2:20 p.m. Fridays in the College of Natural Resources, Room 10. UI students, faculty, staff and the community are welcome to attend these seminars. This semester's seminar topics and dates are:

  • Feb. 3: Leandro Esteban Miranda, Mississippi State University – “Treasures of the Mississippi Alluvial Valley”

  • Feb. 24: William Kendall, Colorado State University – “A tale of two turtles: survival and reproduction of sea turtles in the Caribbean Sea from long-term mark and recapture studies”

  • March 24: Dana Infante, Michigan State University – “Assessing stream fish habitats across large regions: Lessons learned and future directions”

  • March 31: Robin Naidoo, Lead Wildlife Scientist of the World Wildlife Fund, U.S. – “Ecological and socioeconomic aspects of large-scale conservation in southern Africa” 

  • April 21: Angela Strecker, Portland State University – “Understanding the ecological effects of Increased connectivity and rapid environmental change in lakes and ponds of the Columbia Plateau” 

  • April 28: Josh Millspaugh, University of Montana – “Consumption and Conservation: New views on old data and persistent problems”
