West Campus Lots Available for Orange Permit Holders During Construction

August 30, 2019

Orange permit parking on the west side of campus, specifically in Lots 88, 17 and 24, is more congested than it was last year. While the loss of 20-plus parking spaces on Stadium Drive (the south section of Red Lot 86) was not part of original construction plans, Red Lot 34 (paved west of the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center) continues to have good availability. Orange permits allow daytime parking in regular spaces of Orange, Red and Blue parking lots.

Many Vandals who parked incorrectly when they arrived here on campus are now moving their vehicles to the appropriate parking lots. Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) is conducting the year's first utilization survey this week, focusing on Orange parking lots. This will add empirical data to the existing qualitative reports from concerned Vandals and the PTS team walking the lots. Additionally, 40 Orange parking spaces in Orange Lot 24 (College of Law building) will become available this week. They were originally scheduled to be open the first day of class. Thanks to everyone for their patience and feedback, especially those who were here on campus exercising patience during our construction-filled summer. Feel free to email PTS with feedback, questions and concerns at parking@uidaho.edu.
