ORED RISE Funding Program Equipment Infrastructure Support Proposals Due Oct. 21

October 17, 2019

The Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED) invites faculty to submit proposals by Monday, Oct. 21, for the ORED RISE Equipment and Infrastructure Support (EIS) program. The awards are intended to enhance U of I's research, scholarship and creative activity by providing support for equipment purchases, upgrades and repairs related to research and creative activity infrastructure. This will be the fourth time ORED has sponsored the EIS awards. Prior funded awards were distributed over a large range of disciplines.

EIS proposals may be submitted by individual faculty or groups of faculty. The program requires a cost-share from the department and/or college of the principal investigator or co-PIs, and applications must include statements from the department, college or center indicating the level of committed cost-share. Fully signed proposals are due in VERAS by 5 pm Pacific time Monday, Oct. 21.

EIS proposals will be reviewed by a committee of U of I faculty members, administrators and/or staff, as dictated by the subject matter discussed in each proposal. The Vice President for Research and Economic Development, Janet Nelson, will make the final funding decisions. Anticipated start dates for awards is Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019.

EIS proposal guidelines, instructions and templates are available on the EIS website.
