Podcasting Part Two: Assembling and Editing Oct. 24
October 21, 2019
Part two of a podcasting workshop series will take place 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at the MILL in the Library. This workshop will introduce and demonstrate key audio editing concepts such as trimming, equalization, compression and noise reduction, as well as provide a quick overview of audio transcription for use in editing.
In the week since part one of the workshop series, participants will have recorded their own audio, which they will be using in part two for practice. A large portion of this workshop will involve using Audacity, so participants should install the program on their personal machines by the beginning of class.
Upon completion of this lesson, students will:
- Be able to record audio using various equipment and techniques
- Be able to assemble and edit their audio files in Audacity
- Be familiarized with basic audio transcription and how to implement it in the editing process
- Be able to produce a podcast from scratch.
This event is open to students, staff, faculty and community members. Learn more and register.
