VandalStar Expands Online Referral Options to Help Students
January 15, 2021
Faculty and staff now have six ways to connect students in a timely and virtual way to free campus resources and services. This is by using the VandalStar referral feature. The six programs onboard and ready to serve students using this online referral system are: Academic Tutoring, Academic Coaching, Pre-Health Professions, Career Services, BEAMS and Student Support Services-TRIO.
How the referral works: Faculty or staff initiate the program contact by reaching out through the system. When received, the university program will contact the student directly to schedule a 1:1 meeting and discuss available resources. When the referral is made, the student will receive an email notification and a purple “arrow” icon on their VandalStar dashboard.
VandalStar referrals were developed last fall for community users. Email VandalStar@uidaho.edu, call 208-885-8787 or visit the VandalStar faculty and staff webpage for “how to” instructions. Faculty and staff can also request virtual or in-person VandalStar learning sessions.
