Two U of I Undergraduates Awarded U.S. Department of State's Gilman Scholarship to Study Abroad

Congratulations to two U of I undergraduate students selected to receive the U.S. Department of State's Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad during spring 2019. Abigail Euhus, originally from Moscow, is a sophomore majoring in microbiology and a member of the U of I Honors Program. She will spend her semester taking literature courses at Massey University through the Universities Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) program site in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Denessy Rodriguez, originally from St. Anthony, is a senior majoring in sociology. She will spend her semester at the Universities Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) program site in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Gilman Scholars receive up to $5,000 to apply toward their study abroad or internship program costs with additional funding available for the study of a critical language overseas. Students interested in studying abroad and applying for the Gilman Scholarship may contact Education Abroad at
