Idaho Falls industrial engineering Assistant Professor Amin Mirkouei was recently published in Forbes Magazine. His article discusses how rare earth elements (REEs) — essential components in healthcare, clean energy and communication technologies such as electric vehicles, wind turbines and microchips — can be recycled from electronic waste using agromining, a process of using plants to extract metals from the soil.
