Chandra Zenner Ford Named CEO of U of I Boise
May 19, 2020
BOISE, Idaho — May 19, 2020 — Chandra Zenner Ford, a longtime University of Idaho administrator with deep Treasure Valley roots, will become CEO of U of I Boise starting July 1.
Ford, who is already based in Boise and is the senior associate leading strategic initiatives for U of I President Scott Green, will serve both roles. Prior to rejoining her alma mater U of I last year, Ford served as the City of Boise’s philanthropy director.
“I am honored and excited about this opportunity,” said Ford, who also previously held director of development and assistant dean positions at U of I. “I hope my more than 25 years of University of Idaho experience will help build upon and expand the important work our students, faculty and staff bring to Southwest Idaho.
U of I’s contributions to the quality of life and economy in Boise, Canyon County, the Magic Valley and up to McCall are immense and key to the university’s statewide land grant mission, Ford said.
“Southwest Idaho has an enormous base of proud and successful alumni and many corporate partners that benefit from our programs, our research and who rely on our graduates for their talent pool,” she said. “I look forward to working with this entire community of alumni, friends, business partners and future students.”
Green said Ford is passionate about the university’s mission and will continue to support the good work of staff and faculty at U of I Boise.
“I am asking her to lead the creation of a comprehensive strategy for U of I’s presence in the Treasure Valley and southwestern Idaho,” Green said.
Ford will replace Mike Satz, who served as CEO of U of I Boise for the past six years. Satz has taken the university’s voluntary separation incentive offer. His final day at U of I will be June 26.
“We wish him well as he embarks on the next challenge in his career,” Green said. “Our commitment to the Treasure Valley and the many opportunities available for U of I in this region are key to our future.”
Satz has worked at U of I since 2006 when he joined the College of Law as an associate professor. He was appointed as the associate dean for faculty affairs for the College of Law in 2012 and served as interim dean during the 2013-14 academic year.
