U of I Theatre Arts Offers Scholarships to High School Seniors, Transfer Students
June 04, 2020
MOSCOW, Idaho — June 4, 2020 — The University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts is calling high school seniors and transfer students with an interest in theatre to create a short video for a chance to win one of two $1,000 scholarships for Fall 2020.
Students with an interest in acting, design, stage management, directing and writing are encouraged to apply by submitting a two- to three-minute video showcasing their talent and passion for theatre.
“We’re not just looking for the best and brightest young theatre artists in our region, we’re also looking for those artists who know how to showcase their talent,” said Robert Caisley, chair of U of I Theatre Arts. “After all, this is a highly competitive business, and the ability to promote and distinguish yourself from the competition is a valuable skill we help all our students develop. This scholarship opportunity is specifically designed to seek out those entrepreneurial artists looking to the arts.”
Students should send a link of their video to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5 p.m., Saturday, June 13. Questions can be sent to the same email address. Information about the scholarship and U of I Theatre Arts is at uidaho.edu/class/theatre.
Media note: This press release is an update to one sent on May 12 and includes the scholarships now being open to transfer students.
