EPSCoR Track-2 Focuses on ‘Genomes to Phenomes’
The UI Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED) is requesting concept papers for the National Science Foundation EPSCoR’s RII Track-2 Focused Collaborations competition for fiscal year 2017, on the topic "Genomes to Phenomes." Concept papers must be submitted through EIPRS no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016. PIs will be notified if their concepts are selected by Dec. 5, 2016, and letters of intent are due to NSF on Jan. 10, 2017. Call for Proposals for Stillinger Herbarium Expedition Funds
Proposals are now being accepted for Stillinger Herbarium Expedition Funds. The Stillinger Trust funds expeditions for the purpose of enhancing collections-based botanical research at UI and expanding collections in the Stillinger Herbarium. Awards will be limited to $15,000 per proposal and a duration of no longer than 18 months. Read more.
Student Grant Applications Due Nov. 1
The Office of Undergraduate Research is soliciting research proposals from students in any discipline for competitive awards. Successful applicants will receive a project budget up to $1,000 to fund research, scholarly or creative projects. Projects must be conducted under the supervision of a UI faculty mentor and are to be completed during the spring semester of 2017. Proposal deadline for fall grants is Nov. 1, 2016. Read more.
Center for Modeling Complex Interactions Call for Pilot Grant Proposals
UI's Center for Modeling Complex Interactions (CMCI) is now accepting pilot grant proposals. Letters of intent are due Oct. 10; full proposals are due Nov. 15. The CMCI Pilot Grant Program fosters research at the University of Idaho in areas that combine modeling with empirical data to address complex problems relevant to human health. Funding is for one year beginning no earlier than Feb. 1 and no later than May 15, 2017. Read more.
INL, DOE Offers Vouchers for Clean Energy Companies
Idaho National Laboratory and other U.S. Department of Energy labs offer $50,000 to $300,000 for U.S.-owned businesses with 500 or fewer employees through the Small Business Vouchers Pilot program. Vouchers can be used for businesses and national labs to perform collaborative research, or for businesses to access lab instrumentation or facilities. Learn more.
