Supportive Department

The University of Idaho's Geology Department consists of 12 active faculty members, support personnel, and most importantly about 100 enthusiastic and talented undergraduate and graduate students.


Whether you are interested in modeling river incision in mountainous regions, studying the geodynamics of mid-ocean rifts, or analyzing orogenic events and sedimentary basin evolution, our department offers an abundance of opportunities for students to engage with faculty in research, regionally and around the world.
