Kay ’69 and Sam ’68 Bacharach | Jim Lyle Award
Kay ’69 and Sam ’68 Bacharach were honored with the Jim Lyle award for volunteer service to the University of Idaho during a ceremony in March. Kay earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology, and Sam earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in geography.
The Bacharachs have been dedicated volunteers for the University of Idaho, the College of Science, and the Alumni Association for many years. Kay served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors for six years, representing the Washington, DC area. Sam is currently serving on the College of Science Advisory Board. Despite having to travel across the country to participate with these boards, they are very faithful in their attendance. They are both known for the enthusiasm and wisdom they bring with their service.
Kay and Sam have also been active in assisting with planning University of Idaho events in the DC area, and their home is always open to visitors from the university. They have been very supportive of the Operation Education program.
