Mario Pile is an experienced professional who possesses a strong drive for education, leadership and social advocacy. Throughout his career, he has consistently shown a deep commitment to empowering individuals, specifically the younger generation, to achieve their utmost potential. His exceptional track record serves as a solid testament to his unwavering dedication to these important causes.

Mario Pile holds a Bachelor of Science degree in criminology, which provided him with a solid foundation in understanding societal issues and the criminal justice system. To further develop his skills as an educator and leader, Mario pursued a master's in educational leadership.

Mario's expertise and dedication have resulted in numerous opportunities to speak at events and participate in panel discussions. In 2022, he had the privilege of serving as the keynote speaker for the Juneteenth Celebration in Moscow. His insightful reflections on the significance of the event captivated the audience. Additionally, Mario's commitment to improving educational practices was evident in his role as a panelist at the 2023 University of Idaho Advising Symposium.

He has played a crucial role in the Blue Sky Institute, contributing to the sharing of diverse narratives and addressing significant matters. Mario notably delivered a presentation on the topic of White Saviorism, bringing attention to this important element of social dynamics.

Mario's influence goes beyond academic circles. His extensive involvement with the Idaho Youth Challenge Academy as a Commencement Speaker in 2018 emphasizes his commitment to mentoring and guiding young individuals. Furthermore, he played a central role as the inaugural Director of the Black/African American Cultural Center, cultivating an inclusive and nurturing atmosphere for students.

His role as an Adjunct Professor allowed him to share his knowledge and insights on subjects like Black masculinity, contributing to a more nuanced understanding of complex social issues. His numerous presentations on biases have further enriched the dialogue on these critical matters.

Transitioning back to Boise State University, Mario continued his mission as a Developmental Officer and later as an advisor. Eventually, he seized the opportunity to lead the Veterans Upward Bound program before assuming the role of Director of the Black/African American Cultural Center. Importantly, he sought his son Malachi's blessing before pursuing this position, emphasizing the value of youth empowerment and mentorship.

Mario Pile's journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication to education, leadership and advocacy. Mario's professional journey commenced with his honorable service in the military, where he actively served from 2002 to 2008. He continued to honor his commitment to the National Guard for a span of 14 years. During this period, Mario developed a keen interest in literature and became an avid reader. Malcolm X's biography particularly ignited his passion for social justice and advocacy.

Following his move to Mountain Home and the start of a family, Mario wholeheartedly embraced his role as a father to his son, Malachi. His profound love for his son became the driving force behind all of his pursuits.

Mario's career path led him to the field of juvenile corrections, where he initially served as a religious coordinator. Later on, he took on the role of a mentor for young individuals. It was during this time that his commitment to guiding at-risk youth toward a more promising future was solidified. Mario dedicated five years of his life to working at the Youth Challenge Academy in Pierce, a school with a militaristic-style approach, catering to young individuals facing the risk of dropping out. Through his work, he provided them with crucial guidance and unwavering support.

Mario Pile stands as a trailblazer and influential figure within U of I for his remarkable dedication to fostering student success and championing Black involvement. As a key role model and mentor, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal journeys of countless students, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

His commitment to community engagement and inclusivity has been particularly evident through his active involvement in various initiatives promoting diversity and human rights. Mario Pile's impact has reached new heights as he was recently honored as the keynote speaker for the annual MLK Jr. Breakfast organized by the Latah Human Rights Task Force. This recognition speaks volumes about his standing as a thought leader and advocate for social justice.
