The Department of Mathematics offers a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) Mathematics degree online through Engineering Outreach. This is a non-thesis degree requiring a minimum of 30 credits to graduate. You will also have to pass a comprehensive exam at the conclusion of your coursework.
The M.A.T. is designed primarily for certified teachers who wish to strengthen their subject matter preparation. Receiving this degree does not give certification in high school teaching. In some cases, the M.A.T. may qualify you to teach at some community colleges.
