Housing for Faculty and Staff

If you are looking for a place to live near University of Idaho campus, you might want to consider our Faculty and Staff Housing. We offer affordable and comfortable apartments that are conveniently located on-campus and near University of Idaho Child Center. You will enjoy being part of a vibrant, diverse and academic community that values your well-being and success. Our staff is friendly and helpful, and they will assist you with any questions or concerns you might have.

Please Note: With a projected increase in first-year student enrollment, space is limited.

In Housing and Residence Life we take pride in ensuring that all  residents have a positive experience while living on campus. We, University Administration and Housing and Residence Life, prioritize spaces in our apartment communities for undergrad and graduate students. Prioritizing our students allows us to reach our strategic goal of enhancing the student experience and fostering a sense of community and belonging among our residential students.

As a staff or faculty member at University of Idaho you also have an opportunity to apply to live in our on-campus apartment. Because we prioritize undergraduate and graduate students we have very limited availability in the apartment community for faculty, staff and post-doctoral candidates.

Housing and Residence Life is committed to providing a positive and supportive living environment for all students who choose to live on campus. However, due to limited availability of resident hall spaces, university administration and Housing and Residence life are prioritizing first-year students for resident hall spaces. This is in line with our strategic goal of enhancing the student experience and fostering a sense of community and belonging among our students. Faculty and staff who wish to live on campus are encouraged to apply for other housing options in the region.

The apartment community application will be available at 8:30 a.m. on May 2, 2023 to all students, faculty, staff and post-doctoral candidates. You are welcome to apply for the apartment community but because of the limited availability we would also strongly encourage you to pursue other off-campus options for housing.

However, if you are assigned to an on-campus apartment, please note that due to the high demand and limited supply of on-campus apartments, we have implemented a two-year limit policy for all non-student residents. This means that if you are assigned an apartment for the 2023-2024 academic year, you will only be able to renew your agreement once for the following year. After that, you will have to vacate your apartment by June 30, 2025.

Our on-campus apartments are managed by dedicated Apartment Community Assistants (ACA), who are always ready to help you with any issues or questions you might have. The ACAs also organize fun and engaging activities every month for you and your neighbors, such as movie nights, potlucks, game nights and more. These activities are designed to foster a sense of community and connection among the apartment residents.

If you are looking for a place to live near the university, you have many options to choose from. There are different types of apartments, condos, and houses that cater to the needs and preferences of university professionals. You can find furnished or unfurnished units, with or without utilities included, and with various amenities and facilities.

To help you with your search, the university has created an off-campus housing page with links to several different rental options located in Moscow. Visit the university’s off-campus housing page for more information.
