Vandal Cheer Tryouts

Cheer Tryout Material

During tryouts the head coach looks at cheerleaders as a whole. What type of they have tumbling, do they have good stunting technique, are their motions sharp, do they have the ability to light up the room when they dance, etc. The head coach looks for the whole package when it comes to selecting members for our program.

While tumbling is not necessarily a requirement, the coach does recommend cheerleaders having at least a standing back handspring, standing back tuck, and a round off back handspring tuck.

Our program offers all-girl and co-ed stunting options. The coach recommends having a solid background in those styles when trying out.

During tryouts, whether video or live, expect to perform tumbling, flexibility, dancing, sideline chants, and fitness capability. There will also be an interview portion of tryouts.

If you have any questions regarding material feel free to email the coach at kdoman@uidaho.edu or call 208-885-7057.
